Opened in 1999, the Museo del Corso instantly qualified to join the international circuits of exhibitions and retrospectives. The combination of traditional and innovative styles of exhibiting is a new way of producing culture that has proved to be successful and soon brought the Museum to be a universally recognised cultural centre. The important exhibitions held in the first years showed artists and periods that have had a strong impact on both Italian and global culture. However, modern art has not been neglected since many exhibitions on this subject have been held in the Museum's 'Caveau'.
The following exhibitions have been held in the main area:
- "Una Collezione da Scoprire: Capolavori dal '500 al '700 dell'Ente Cassa di Risparmio di Roma" (A collection to be discovered: Masterpieces from the sixteenth to eighteenth century belonging to the Ente Cassa di Risparmio di Roma)

We are fortunate enough to live in a Country in which the beauty of the landscapes and historical, archaeological and artistic heritage is rather unequalled worldwide. The geographic distribution of this heritage ensures that nearly every rural area owns something worthy of being preserved and publicly exhibited, not to mention the large cities of art, which are obviously, authentic beautiful and historical treasures. Faced with such a high quality artistic heritage that is distributed evenly throughout the Country, everyone, with no exception, is called to contribute to its preservation and appreciation.
The former banking foundations, heirs of the Savings Banks' philanthropic vocation, are perfectly aware of this duty since they were generously performing it even before the unity of Italy by salvaging and protecting the urban districts within their traditionally elected area. This interest in the local areas has allowed many aspects of purely local cultures - which otherwise would have been known only by experts - to be preserved and exhibited.
